Social Entrepreneur Peter Kenyon will be presenting this full day "Masterclass" workshop explaining the ABCD method of community development

You may register for 1 or all 3 sessions.

Details of the sessions are as follows:

9.45am - 1pm:

Shifting the development mindset from needs and deficiencies to assets and capacities.

Highlighting, mapping, connecting and celebrating the diverse range of community assets and harnessing the connected assets for action that enhances places and strengthens caring communities.

2pm - 4.30pm:

Encouraging community members to make the shift from being consumers, customers and clients of services and programs, to co-producers and citizens.

Tailoring to your audience – communicating and applying ABCD in various sectors, communities and agencies.

6pm - 8.30pm:

Facilitation and training approaches and skills related to ABCD including gaming, art of hosting and storytelling.

In depth awareness of ABCD tools, resources and key stories.


Please note that this is a masterclass so each session is different and will run on from the previous session.

Light refreshments and fingerfoods will be available throughout the day.

Social entrepreneur, author and economist

A community enthusiast and social entrepreneur, Peter Kenyon has worked with more than 2000 communities in Australia and in 59 countries seeking to facilitate fresh and creative ways that stimulate community and local economic renewal. Motivated by the desire to create caring, healthy, inclusive and enterprising communities, Peter, through his organisation, Bank of I.D.E.A.S (Initiatives for the Development of Enterprising Action and Strategies) helps communities spark their own ideas and invest themselves in building sustainable futures. A significant part of the organisation's income is returned to innovative community initiatives. In the last year he has worked with 70 communities from Marble Bar to Margaret River, Launceston to Mission Bay, and convened community building conferences in Australia, India and New Zealand. A keen author, Peter has written 16 books on community and economic development, youth policy and enterprise. Peter’s passion and purpose sees him traverse the globe continuously in his relentless desire to enable communities to discover their strengths and transform themselves.

Please note that in instances where workshops are fully filled, the number of attendees from the one group/club may be capped and priority given to representatives of community groups operating in Latrobe City Council.
