This workshop will help you deepen your understanding of family diversity, learn strategies to better engage with parents and build on your communication skills.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Effectively manage parent expectations
  • Learn how to diffuse difficult situations
  • Learn how to share information and provide constructive feedback
  • Take the lead in having sensitive conversations with parents
  • Form a richer understanding of the cultural and community contexts that may influence a child.

About the Presenter:

Debbie Cole is a trainer, mentor and consultant for early childhood and school-aged care services. Holding numerous early childhood qualifications and a Masters of Education, Debbie has worked as a teacher and course coordinator at Swinburne University and as a lecturer for RMIT. She is a qualified kindergarten teacher and specialises in the development of curriculum and pedagogy to inspire change and innovation in early childhood education.
