Description

Creating Movement in Wearable Art

by Helen Coleman

Presented by Wearable Art Mandurah

Explore the possibilities of motion in this wearable art workshop with award winning artist, Helen Coleman.

Helen will share practical advice learned during the design process for her winning Wearable Art Mandurah 2017 Architectural garment, Icarus Rising, focusing on the creation of articulated segments, practicality, durability and wearer comfort.

Participants will then explore these concepts by creating their own articulated structures in a hands-on workshop using recycled materials.

All materials and tools will be provided but students are welcome to bring their own materials to incorporate into their sculpture if desired.

Morning tea provided. The 10.30am arrival time allows 30 minutes for a coffee and catch-up with other participants before the 11am start.

This workshop will finish in time to attend the 2018 Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase matinee session at 2pm. Tickets available here
