Event description

Description

The UNSW iGEM team warmly invites you to the annual symposium that celebrates the current trends in Synthetic Biology. This emerging field unites the biological sciences with the informational sciences to assemble biological systems (and components) that may have significant societal benefits and commercial opportunities.

However, the rapidly-changing domain also encompasses the creation of complex challenges such as the need to revise current biosafety assessment frameworks and poses some ethical questions.

Whether you are in science, engineering, business, or law, or just curious, we would like to invite you to be part of this important conversation.

With a theme of “Creating a Sustainable Future Using Synthetic Biology”, we want to open discussion about the social and economic impacts of synthetic biology and how it can usher a more sustainable future for cities and communities, particularly in Australia.
