creatED - The link to successful research translation

The Office of Research and Innovation welcome you to join the new pilot education program called creatED which has been developed to support ECU researchers and postgraduate students towards commercialising research. CreatED will run over three half days covering market analysis, IP, risk and finance including grants, seed funding and investors.

creatED Session 1:

Do you know the process to create great ideas from your research that can be commercialised? If not, how do you know where to focus and will you miss an opportunity? Can you create a sound business model? Session 1 covers all of these questions including:

  • An introduction to the creatED pilot program

  • Identify the problem and market

  • Lean canvas

  • Identify and mitigate risks

About the Presenters:


Justin Davies - MD - Emergination / Co-Founder, Director – Prezentt

Justin Davies is Managing Director of Emergination is a strategic advisor, marketer and digital strategist. Experienced in commercialisation as CEO, mentor on Startup Weekends, Curtin Ignition, Vocus Upstart. Justin is a co-founder and director of Prezennt, which as a training delivery platform that is seeking to revolutionise the way face to face training is delivered.

Professor Pi-Shen Seet - ECU, School of Business and Law

Pi-Shen is Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Management discipline at the School of Business and Law. He is currently conducting research and supervising research students in the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, international business and human resource management. He has previously held positions at Flinders University and the University of Adelaide.
