Using Spark AR, you’ll learn to create your own Instagram or Facebook filter.
About this event
Create your own augmented reality social media filters by designing outlandish makeup styles, change your background, add accessories, play with light and colour, or add 3D objects. Delivered by creative technologist Jenny Mai and VR producer Jane Venegas, this introductory workshop will be a fun opportunity to engage with social media as a content producer.
In this workshop you will:
- Learn how to use SparkAR
- Use and alter templates
- Create your social media filter to share with your friends
For those more advanced, participants can also learn how to use Photoshop on the library's Microsoft Surface Studio computers to create their own custom art for their filters. Everyone will have the chance to publish their filter to their Instagram or Facebook profile.
About the Facilitators:
Jenny Mai is a designer, educator and creative coder who's interested in creating interactive digital content and Jane Venegas is a Virtual Reality Producer who is passionate about storytelling and immersive experiences.
Age: 12+
Experience: No experience required, but a general understanding of computers and social media is recommend.
Equipment: There are limited computers available, and resources will be shared. It is recommended to bring your own device/laptop preloaded with SparkAR.
