About this event

Did you know that many of the fast-growing, high-valued tech companies you know began life as small startups?

Some Australian success stories include Canva (democratising design), Raiz (making investing easy), or Atlassian (helping tech teams collaborate).

🌎 Keen to make an impact on the world?

🙋🏽‍♂️ Want to take charge of your own future?

👩🏻‍🔬 Inspired by those who’ve come before you?

Starting a startup is a great way to make an outsized impact: you could develop a product or service that could change industries, improve lives, or move us to a more sustainable future.

How do you know if this might be the path for you? Create your first startup idea is a good place to start!

In this 45 minute workshop, you’ll:

  1. Develop eight (!) ideas designed to solve real-world problems.
  2. Meet other students and friendly startup coaches.
  3. Find out about startups, the Peter Farrell Cup, and other opportunities for changemakers on campus.

No experience or ideas needed: just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm.

Some real UNSW Founders startups:

  • VidUp is transforming the way people tell stories, with AI-generated videos edited in minutes, not hours.
  • AtOne is Australia’s first-ever fully immersive VR meditation and relaxation experience.
  • Yellowbox helps anyone securely store their stuff, with a growing network of smart lockers: no keys or codes required.
