Create Queensland Day is an initiative led by YouTube and the Queensland Government that aims to support creators in developing quality content that expands their target market reach.


This Create Queensland Day has been specifically designed for YouTube creators with a following of 5,000 or more subscribers. The event will bring together industry experts to collaborate through an interactive workshop, panel discussion, and networking session. The Launching & Building Your Channel workshop will be delivered by Los Angeles digital media training agency, CreatorUp.


CreatorUp shares industry-leading knowledge to unlock the power of content for brands, creators, agencies and platforms and boasts clients such as Google, YouTube, L’Oreal, McCann Group, and BBDO.

Nick Almond | CreatorUp Presenter & Panel Moderator 

Nick is an accomplished senior executive with a record of success in driving revenue growth, identifying revenue streams and launching initiatives. He is an innovative leader who leverages significant international and domestic experience in general management, strategic alliances and consumer marketing with a proven track record in piloting and commercialising new ventures. Nick is currently COO and advisor at CreatorUp.

Jackie Celona | CreatorUp Presenter & Panelist (YouTube Creator)

Jackie's passion is to entertain, inspire, and empower digital media consumers and creators. She has been a YouTube creator for eight years and has grown her well-known channel, jrcpr0ductions, to over 220,000 subscribers and more than 90 million views. She is currently working at CreatorUp, developing, managing, and delivering production and business skills workshops to top creators around the world.

Rachel Aust | Creator & Panellist 

With a background in fashion and beauty photography, Rachel Aust began her YouTube career in 2015 as a way to explore her creativity through videography and share her passions of minimalism and organisation. Rachel owns a boutique training studio in Brisbane called Eat Run Lift and has also studied nutrition and fitness, naturally, this also infiltrates its way into her content and she likes to share information with her YouTube audience about how to live their best life both physically and mentally.

Rita Artmann | Creator & Panellist 

Rita completed her formal training at The Actors Workshop in Brisbane. Rita has produced, co-written and starred in ArtSpear's two feature films, The Killage and Australiens, their comedy series The Void and animated YouTube seriesToon Sandwich.

Joe Bauer | Creator & Panellist 

Joe has been making comedy films since he was eleven years old. He has written, directed, edited, animated and acted in all of ArtSpear Entertainment's projects and has also illustrated the "Eric Vale" and "Derek Dale" children's book series.

YouTube/Create QLD Partnership

This event is a partnership between Advance Queensland and YouTube that aims to stimulate the current and next generation of Queensland’s creative entrepreneurs. Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology, QUT Creative Enterprise Australia, and Screen Queensland are key partners in the delivery of the program.

The program will provide creative entrepreneurs and digital creators with funding, production resources and equipment, and expert support to enhance their ability to develop high-quality digital content and reach new global audiences via YouTube.

The program aims to serve as a collaborative platform where YouTubers, digital producers, content creators, and industry experts in Queensland can connect, learn from and inspire each other, and have the opportunity to become better connected with a community of top creators from around the world.
