Friends Who Are Going
Event description

No longer do you need expensive video cameras, editing suites and powerful computers to quickly create high quality video.

This jam-packed session will teach you how to make amazing web videos quickly and inexpensively on your smart phone, be it Apple or Android. From my experience as a practicing video producer and mobile journalist, I've worked out what works and what doesn't, radically reducing your video production learning curve.

Who should attend?

This session is suitable for business owners, tourism operators, trainers, journalists, communication and PR professionals, content creators and those just wanting to make better video.

What will you be covering?

• Understanding the video essentials of exposure, focus, composition and good audio.

• Know what gear and apps give your smart phone professional video capabilities.

• Know how to record interviews, b-roll and voiceovers.

• Using iMovie, edit your captured vision and audio into a multi track video package incorporating transitions, stills, graphics, titles and music.

• Publishing your video online and to social media.

The session consists of essential theory together with opportunity to work in pairs to shoot, edit and publish your creation, with review and feedback on how you went from your course colleagues.

It will be an intense evening, there's lot to cover, but at the end, you'll have the confidence to say, YES, I too can create great videos.

What should I bring to the event?

• Bring your iPhone, Android phone and/or iPad.

• Offload your existing photos and videos. You'll need space for the video you create that evening.

• Your charger. Using your device constantly will run down the battery quicker, you may need to top up.

• Make sure you have the latest iMovie installed (it's the one that looks like a purple star).

• Login details for your social media accounts if you would like to post video.

• A tripod if you've got one.

• Any other accessories you may already use.

Is there a minimum age requirement for the workshop?

The workshop is aimed at adults, tertiary and high school students. All attendees over the age of 12 must have registered and paid to attend.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is parking at the meeting place and in the surrounding streets.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, but let us know the name of the new person, before the event.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Click the "Contact the Organiser" button in the right hand column and I'd be pleased to answer your questions.
