About this event

The goal of this session is to solve a difficult puzzle involving four cubes. So that students can try to solve the puzzle, they should construct the four cubes using the template attached below. We will be using graph theory to find a solution to the puzzle and ask ourselves whether the solution we find is the only solution possible.

Mode: Online

Schedule: 1 x 1.5 hr sessions

Suitable for: High-achieving students in Years 5 - 6.

Prerequisites: Perseverance: This puzzle is hard! All skills related to Graph Theory will be introduced during the session.

Required Equipment:

  • A device with access to the internet and Zoom.
  • A printed copy of the provided templates
  • Students should construct the four cubes from the provided nets prior to the session. It is recommended that students colour in the nets with the colours Yellow, Blue, Red, and Green before constructing the cubes.

Note to teachers: This program is in high demand. So that we can allow as many students as possible to participate, we ask that if you wish to book more than 10 students, you purchase a group ticket and have students participate via a single Zoom, streamed into the classroom, rather than have students logging on through individual devices.

As a school, if students have already participated in this program, please allow other schools the opportunity to enrol students first.
