Friends Who Are Going
Event description

This program is a two-day, live-in immersive Personal Development experience for people who are genuinely ready to change their lives or part thereof. It has been developed for those in need of real-world strategies, practical transformation techniques, clarity and a little (or a lot of) motivation, without the psycho-babble, scientific jargon or fluffy feel-good bullshit. The program commences Friday 7pm, concludes Sunday 3pm, includes accommodation and meals and is a combination of interactive workshop sessions, Q and A forums, lectures, physical activity sessions (catering for fitness levels from zero to ten) and is facilitated by Craig Harper. It’s also lots of fun.

The Team

I’m super excited about our camp this year because I’m bringing an awesome team of educators, motivators and thought leaders with me. While I’ll still be presenting my ‘normal’ stuff (self-management, success, mindset, exploring potential, overcoming adversity, communication, managing fear and much more), one of my best friends, Bobby Cappuccio is flying in from the US to inspire participants to create and live their best lives. He is a master teacher, awesome communicator and is annoyingly likable. Doctor Kal Fried is an experienced sports and exercise medicine physician with an avid (possibly obsessive) interest in the practical clinical applications of pain neuroscience and he will be there sharing on the fascinating topic of pain (in general) and pain management. He is a leader in this space and his take on the treatment of pain is both atypical and brilliant. Professor Sharon Ricardo works at Monash University (Melbourne) and is going to chat with us about everything from epigenetics and lifting weights to stem cell-based therapies and how obesity ‘works’. She’s super-interesting and may be slightly obsessive about the gym. Danielle Grant is a leading Exercise Physiologist and long-time friend and she will be in charge of our physical activity sessions (suitable for all fitness levels, so don’t panic). She will also do some teaching and generally be kind-of-bossy. Program Director, answer-er of all questions, know-er of all things and boss of me, Melissa Cameron will be floating about to ensure things ‘work’ and I don’t go off the rails.

The key objective of the program is to educate, motivate and empower participants to identify, design, create and inhabit their ideal reality. To consciously build their best lives. While reality is often seen as a universal and common experience (we all inhabit one), on many levels it is unique and personal; which is why two people in the same place at the same time, going through what appears to be the same thing, will invariably be having very different experiences. Although our personal reality is influenced and affected by the goings-on of our external world, on an experiential level, it is created (consciously or not, intentionally or not, for better or worse)… by us. By the completion of the program, it is expected that participants will have a different level of awareness, insight and understanding of self-management and self-empowerment on a physical, mental, emotional and sociological level.

This year’s camp will focus five key areas: (1) self-management (2) over-coming hurdles (mental, emotional, physical, practical) (3) understanding, exploring and developing potential (4) understanding and dealing with stress and anxiety and (5) creating a personal blueprint for your body (physical health).

While this program will be of value to most people, it is particularly relevant for people who:

  • Struggle to face their fears.
  • Fail to follow through on decisions.
  • Have wasted too much time and potential.
Are over-thinkers and under-doers.
  • Need to learn how to create healthy relationships (with others and themselves).

  • Have a history of ‘almost’ changing things.

  • Need a cognitive and emotional (thinking, beliefs, self-talk, self-esteem) overhaul.

  • Need to let go of destructive habits and behaviours.

  • Are prone to self-sabotage.

  • Want to gain clarity, perspective and certainty about their next 1, 2, 5 years.

  • Need to build resilience, personal power and confidence.

  • Are genuinely ready to step out of the theory of change and into the real-world practical, messy, sometimes-fun, sometimes-not, process of transforming their life.

I understand that, for some people, even the thought of getting involved in a program like this can be scary. I get it. To you people I say, you will be one of many apprehensive people and that’s okay. Part of the growth experience is simply turning up and being willing to do something different, with different people in a different place.

Date: 8-10 September, 2017

Venue: Camp Manyung, Sunnyside Road, Mount Eliza (an awesome venue located 300 metres from Port Phillip Bay).

Price: $695.00 (this price includes meals, accommodation, program and manual (crazy, I know!)).

It’s not a sale’s pitch or marketing strategy when I say that fully-catered, live-in personal development programs like this generally cost somewhere in the vicinity of $1,500-$2,000. So, with that in mind, I have worked hard to offer a premium program at a very (very) affordable price.

Well, apart from the fact that it’s awesome, I wanted to find a facility that would be cost-effective (most corporate-type venues would more than double the program price), well-equipped, near the beach and would allow me to coach, teach and facilitate in a fun and laid-back type of atmosphere and environment. If you need big fluffy pillows, room service and five-star luxury then (1) you might not want to come but (2) you probably should!
