Crafting Story Characters: Homeschool Craft Program
Overview
Join local fibre artist Cristina from Solstice Fibre for a creative journey into character-making and storytelling. Children are invited to design and needle felt their very own woolly figure, inspired by their favourite tale or from their imagination. Whether it be a witch, hero, or alien, children will shape a unique peg doll-style friend from wool roving.
In this class, children will:
✨ Learn the art of needle felting, exploring basic techniques and shape-building to form their own creation.
🎨 Enjoy a calm, supportive environment that encourages creative thinking and personal expression.
Share and listen to tales, creating a gentle storytelling circle where children bring their characters to life.
🌟Design a character with full creative freedom and with gentle guidance to support them in learning a new art medium.
All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed. Guidance will be adapted for all skill levels and abilities.
Families are welcome, with an understanding of little siblings coming along. Please note that this class is designed for ages 7 and above, with guardians present throughout.
