Cradle Mountain Film Fest: Mountainfilm On Tour Outdoor Screening + Party
Sat. 1 April 2017, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm AEDT
Join us at the Cradle Mountain Film Fest for the Tasmanian exclusive party and outdoor screening of Mountainfilm on Tour, all the way from Telluride, Colorado. Mountainfilm uses the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. They are bringing an amazing program of films to the fringe of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area to an outdoor screening with a view of Cradle Mountain.
As the sun sets over the mountain, grab a drink from the bar, some warm snacks from the food sellers, and settle in to your camp chair with the local people and wildlife to enjoy some awe-inspiring adventures.
BYO chair/picnic rug, down jacket, blanket and an appetite for good food, drink and adventure. Buy your food and drink from our local providers (no BYO food and drinks). No ATM available on site. Gates open at 6PM, there will be two hours of films screening from sunset (around 7PM) until 9:30PM including intermission. Bar will remain open until 10PM. Wet weather venue will be the Wilderness Gallery at Cradle Mt Hotel.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? No. Films are unclassified but generally family-friendly apart from some occasional minor coarse language.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event? We are holding the outdoor screening behind the airstrip next to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, where there is ample free parking.
What can I bring into the event? Please bring very warm clothes and a camp chair/picnic rug to sit on - we will be outdoors at altitude! This is a licensed event with a bar sellling beer, wine and cider, plus a range of food vans with hot and cold food, so there will be no BYO - please support the local businesses who have made the long trip up the hill to serve you! Bring cash, as there is no ATM on site and mobile coverage is limited. Telstra phones operate the best at Cradle.
What's the refund policy/what if it rains? Good question! We have a back up wet weather option, where films will be screened at the Cradle Mountain Hotel, so never fear just buy your tickets :) no refunds = no regrets!
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, you can check in with the barcode on your phone or use your name at the gate.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends? Yes - once the barcode or name has been used, it will be invalid. IDs won't be checked!
How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Call Anna on 0439 111 334 or email email@example.com
