Event description

This webinar, presented by Alastair Baldwin from Architectural Window Systems (AWS), deals with 'Thermally Broken' systems.

Windows are such an important part of any building project. They play a key role in delivering natural light to the building, providing ventilation, connecting the inside to the outdoors and can drastically impact on the way we feel about a space.

AWS is increasingly aware of the fact that windows were becoming more and more difficult to incorporate into a building without a negative impact on the efficiency of the envelope. Because of this, AWS spent three years developing a product suitable for specifying aluminium windows and doors in applications where energy efficiency is of the utmost importance.

By participating in this webinar, you will:
– understand what ThermalHEART technology is;
– identify the benefits of thermally broken windows;
– understand heat gain and heat loss that occurs via the glazing;
– understand what Uw values and SHGC are.

Alastair Baldwin is an Architectural Specification specialist with AWS. He commenced his working life at 17 with the view of becoming an architect. He worked for an architectural glass company doing projects all over the world, which catapulted him into the world of glass, aluminium, curtain walling, skyscrapers, steel and the building industry. This resulted in him becoming an architectural technician, focusing his knowledge on glass and aluminium. He claims he now works for the best aluminium company in Australian at AWS. Having worked alongside lots of aluminium companies in Europe, he believes that AWS is the most proactive forward-thinking helpful company he’s worked with.
