If These Halls Could Talk is a multi-arts project celebrating regional halls and the role they play in our communities.
As part of this project Opera Queensland will be presenting Tumbulgum and the countdown to midnight at the first supper between now and forever.
There’s been an accident on the Tweed river. A collision. Someone has died and when that happens souls come to wait here on the bank to find out who will be taken into the afterlife. They’re waiting for the Ferryman to decide. The Tumbulgum Hall will be transformed into this other-worldly place; a place where souls meet and where the community comes together. And while souls meet this December they’ll be taken on a musical journey into the next world and into forever.
Bring a plate to share, reminiscent of your favourite hall.
