Corporate Finance for Non-Finance Professionals

Corporate Finance for Non-Finance Professionals is an intensive 2-day course designed to provide you with a strong foundation into the world of corporate finance. This class is for those that want to understand how corporations maximize value for their shareholders through capital budgeting and allocation, and capital structure. You will learn how to determine the value of companies and projects, as well as learn how to estimate risk. By the end of this course, you will understand how firms source funds, how company’s return value to its stakeholders, and how capital structure and budgeting shape the company. We will also explore real options as a means for evaluating projects.

  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of equity and debt financing.
  • Understand how capital structure, or the amount of debt impacts upon the firm’s value and stability.
  • Apply Project Evaluation Criterion such as NPV, IRR, and Payback Periods to inform business decisions.

  • Understand how a firm’s overall cost of capital is calculated.
