Description

Corinne leads a 3 day project based workshop. In this project based workshop, the individual project of each of the participants is the focus. Through specific exercises the participants will be very active and hardworking! The workshop is lead by Corinne and involves group discussion and critical theory where required.

The three working days are meant for photographers who like to investigate their storytelling in project form or are trying to understand their unique approach across their collective practice. The workshop is an introduction to the visual language and projects on a theoretical and technical level with a large practical element. This workshop is useful for projects or portfolios of work at any stage of development.

The workshop’s main aim is to extend the ability to find solutions and trigger new ideas through group work, sharing and exchanging. There is a focus on the possible methods of transforming/translating work into photography project or collection with examples, possibilities and images, storytelling construction schemes; training in all the main aspects of the development of the presented projects.

About Corinne Noordenbos

Corinne Noordenbos, a world renowned expert of photography and the photographic book is holding workshops for the first time in Australia. Awarded extensiviely for her work as an educator and mentor, she has been a reference for many of the most renowned photographers of the moment including Rineke Dijkstra, Viviane Sassen, Rob Hornstra and Wassink Lundgren.

As a photographer and educator Corinne's education in the Netherlands has drastically impacted the development of photography internationally. Her former students are now at the forefront of contemporary practice and the development of the book form can be clearly celebrated in the work she has helped create. Corinne was Head of Photography at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague until April 2015. In 2014 she received an award from the Royal Photographic Society, followed by receiving a Royal Dutch decoration in 2016 in honor of her work. She is internationally known as an expert in photobooks and is a collector herself. Over the last 3 decades she has been invited to give guest lectures and workshops extensively around the world at major festival, galleries and institutions and has been a jury member of numerous prestigous awards including the Kessel photobook award. She is currently working as a photographer and travelling around the world as an associate professor at many academies including the CAFA, the Central Academy of Fine Art, Beijing, ‘University of Ulster in Belfast and L’ Unicamp University Campinas in Brazil, as well as a frequent speaker at numerous international photography festivals giving presentations, workshops and conferences.

Corinne's intensive, immersive and student-centred approach to working with photographers is a unique opportunity for partipants of all levels and discpilines here in Australia.

What can I bring into the event?

Please bring your portfolio/your project you would like to work on. Images do not need to be professionally printed, but need to be physical prints.

Please advise your course of study on booking.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Tickets are transferrable on request.
