About this Event
With the professional assistance of local Ambassadors (Natalie Lobartolo, Rebecca Coulombe, Jess Firth/Poland), CoralWatch just published the 'Coral Coast - Corals at Your Doorstep' education pack. These new resources will be officially launched on the day and made available to all participants, aiming to raise more awareness about local/coastal reefs.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions numbers are limited and you will need to register for the event. If you are only attending the launch, please select a general admission ticket. If you are attending the launch and a rock pool tour, please select a rock pool tour option as this will automatically register you for the launch. Numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 people for rock pool tours.
Rock pool tours are a guided tour by CoralWatch Ambassadors who will explore the rockpool with you. Please follow their instructions. Apart from finding creatures, you will learn about citizen science checking the health of corals using the Coral Health Chart. It's really easy, no experience is necessary and there's no age limit. Citizen science is fun and educational for the kids - they'll be learning without even knowing it!
IMPORTANT: Please bring your own booties/water shoes/closed in shoes***, water bottle, picnic blanket, snacks and hat/slip slop slaps!
*** The rocks can be sharp and entry and exit can be challenging, you need to take take care of your own safety.
If you would like to bring young children along, parental supervision is essential at all times!
This event is focused on exploring the rockpools, there is NO snorkelling opportunity during this event.
