Paul Jones

The Director of OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) in Australia, Paul Jones oversees national projects from his base at the Queensland office. Jones first joined OMA in 2013 at their Hong Kong office, where he was jointly responsible for architectural design projects in the Asia-Pacific region, before returning to Australia in 2016. He worked alongside local architect, Hassell, to oversee the design and delivery of the WA Museum Boola Bardip in Perth, which was completed in 2020, and is now leading teams for the design of two projects in Victoria – a town centre in Sunbury South, and the Wollert Neighbourhood Centre in Whittlesea. The Wollert Neighbourhood Centre will be a 9000-square metre development, integrating retail opportunities, cultural hubs, sporting facilities, and community spaces, to serve the rapidly expanding population north of Melbourne.

Jones is a registered Architect in multiple states in Australia and has more than 30 years of experience, previously serving as Director at Donovan Hill in Brisbane, where he was involved in some of Queensland’s most significant and award-winning commercial, cultural, heritage and urban projects. In addition to his work with OMA, Jones is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Queensland and is the Queensland Chapter Councilor and Practice Committee Chair with the Australian Institute of Architects. He also sits on State Design Review Panels in both Queensland and Western Australia.
