About this Event
Cooma Cottage
Visit the former home of Australian-born explorer, Hamilton Hume.
Hume bought the cottage and the 100 acres for ₤601 in 1840 and lived there for the rest of his life. He spent many of his years enthusiastically building extensions to his property, and today, this original colonial bungalow forms part of the earliest complex of dwellings and stables, and stands as a fine example of the way our pioneers used to live.
When you visit you can enjoy a walk through the expansive grounds, and see our beautiful resident Clydesdale horses.
