Cooling your home - retrofits and adaptations for summer heat
Location
Online event
Free online workshop and book for Hunter residents to plan efficient actions to stay cool at home in hot weather and extreme heat.
About this event
Most homes in the Hunter & Central Coast are not built for extreme heat - however there are DIY adaptations that can make your home more comfortable and safe - for both owners and renters.
Presented by Dr John Shiel and other guests, this workshop is interactive and offers practical information on:
• installing cost-effective retrofits
• updating appliances and using them more strategically
• creating an efficient one-room Cool Retreat
• simple behavioural adaptions to stay cool and survive heatwaves
Bring along your ideas and questions.
The second part of the workshop is an opportunity to discuss DIY changes you can make at your home with guest subject-matter experts.
