Event description

Description

Did you know that Blacktown City is expected to experience additional 5 to 10 hot days (above 35°C) by 2030?

Planting trees is one way we can help to increase canopy cover and reduce temperatures!

Blacktown City Council was recently awarded funding under the NSW Government's Five Million Trees for Greater Sydney grant to plant new trees across our City.

Join us for a fun family-friendly morning and learn more about the benefits of trees for our community.

There will be:

  • morning tea
  • information about upcoming planting near you
  • activities for kids and families including infrared thermometer testing to compare shaded and sunny areas, colouring in, making your own tree tag and more
  • a fun competition to win 1 of 5 prizes valued up to $100!
