Dr. Strangeconfig or: How I Learned to Stop Using Chef and Puppet and Love the Containers
What is the significance of containers? If you want to know why/how they are changing the traditional approach to configuration management and operations, and then get some insights into the major players, trends, upcoming standards, and future of containers in general, this is the conversation to participate in.

Speaker: Amir Moghimi, Lead Platform Engineer, Deloitte Platform Engineering
Bio: Amir is a technical platform lead with 10+ years of experience in design, implementation and operations of highly reliable and scalable software platforms, recently based on APIs and microservices. In the past 3 years, he has been delivering container Platform-as-a-Service solutions, on both open source Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift technologies, to enterprise clients.

Developing for OpenShift Container Platform
Container platforms are smart and complex but the development experience does not have to be. In this hands-on demo, Sohrab demonstrates how developers can easily build and run containerised application on their local machines using Red Hat OpenShift Container Development Kit.

BIO: Sohrab is an integration and platform specialist, who has delivered multiple enterprise solutions over the years. In 2015, he became one of the first certified Docker trainers in Asia Pacific. Working primarily in the Java ecosystem, he is passionate about CI/CD, automation and enhancing developer experience. His current focus is ESBs (MuleSoft/Red Hat), microservices and OpenShift platform.

Running Containers at Scale on AWS with Amazon ECS
Running and managing large scale applications can be a challenge and often requires operating complex container management infrastructure. Amazon EC2 Container Service (ECS) is a highly scalable, high performance container management solution that takes care of these challenges for you, allowing you to focus on developing your application. We will explore how to run well-architected container-based applications at scale on ECS, taking a deep dive into scaling and custom scheduling.

Speaker: Greg Sporton, Partner Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services
BIO: Prior to joining AWS, Greg spent 8 years with Cisco, and a further 15 years in the IT industry working for a number of large customers and system integrators in deployment, design and presales roles. Greg is a qualified electrical mechanic, and has a passion for networking, having held his CCIE for 15 years.
