About this event

The WA Department of Health is reviewing what community-based services are provided for people with lung and other respiratory conditions.

To ensure those services meet the needs of people living with those conditions, Health Consumers’ Council is hosting a consumer and carer consultation session to seek your views about the quality of existing services, how easy or difficult they are to access, and any potential gaps in services.

Community-based services are those that support people to receive care closer to home, to better manage their condition, and avoid potentially unnecessary trips to hospital.

  • Date: Wednesday 24 June
  • Time: 10am – 11.45am
  • Location: online via Zoom – if you require assistance to join an online meeting, or would prefer to attend in person in central Perth this will be possible. Please let us know. The details for the online session will be sent out a couple of days before the session.
  • Who: we are interested to hear from people with personal experience of living with lung or respiratory conditions, as well as people who care for people with this experience. The conditions include asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, interstitial lung disease, lung infections (like pneumonia), occupational lung disease and rare lung conditions (like cystic fibrosis) and people living with multiple lung conditions. The team are particularly keen to hear from people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and people living regionally.

A consumer participation payment of $35/hour will be offered to people who participate in this session.
