Description

1. Constructing a Coronial Student Unit: A presentation by Dr Drayton and a final year social work student will encompass the development and implementation of a student placement unit within the office of the State Coroner. The development process, the experience of learning within a unique and febrile setting, initial outcomes and future opportunities will be discussed.

2. Advocacy Enquiry: Dr Visser’s presentation describes Advocacy Enquiry, a process in which intentionality, forethought, self-reactiveness and self-reflectiveness are combined. The strategy sees everyone as an intelligent being who wants what is best for patients, self and colleagues. Through conversation, participants become clearer about their responsibilities, grow communication skills, master coping skills and become confident to act timely in times of crisis.
