Event Details

The annual conference of QEST is especially tailored to meet the professional development needs of science staff in education facilities and the delivery of successful practical experiences for students.

Due to the variety of tickets available for ConQEST, in an effort to simplify your options, please use the appropriate Promotional Codes to reveal tickets that are relevant to you:

  • 2018member (if you have joined / renewed your QEST membership, or plan to do so shortly)
  • non-member (if you are not a member of QEST)
  • or you may have been emailed a special code.

The ConQEST committee has taken great care in putting together this program so as it meets the needs of all our peers, from the new recruits to the highly experienced.  School Laboratory Technicians and Science teachers alike, will have opportunity to experience practical workshops and information sessions that are directly related to school curriculum and the ability to deliver successful practical experiences to students that enhance their learning.

ConQEST is traditionally held on the first Monday and Tuesday of the Queensland June school holidays, this year being 2nd and 3rd July.  We are thankful for the generosity and support of our host, The University of Queensland Gatton Campus, where the event is held.

We recommend that you download the ConQEST 2018 Registration Handbook from the QEST website  as it has all of the information you need to choose your workshops, find the venue, transportation options, parking and accommodation.

You will choose which workshops to attend as part of this Eventbrite registration process.  The workshops you choose will be listed on your ticket.  Some workshops have limited numbers - it is recommended that you register early to avoid disappointment. If a workshop is full, it cannot be selected on the workshop selection screen.  You may reselect workshops until the registration closing date, Friday, 15th June 2018.

Chemical Safety in Schools - this year you have the option to add a half day training in Chemical Safety to your ConQEST ticket.  You can also choose to attend Chemical Safety in School without attending ConQEST.  Chemical Safety is an excellent short course run by EcoSolve, the developers of Risk Assess for Australian Schools

Your safety is important to us.  Please bring a Laboratory Coat, safety goggles, closed in shoes and appropriate clothing for laboratory workshops.

You may register (and pay for) more than one person at a time.  You will need to enter a separate name, email, workplace (the school you work at) and workshop selections for each registration.

Payment Options include Credit Card (online payment) OR Invoice and Bank Transfer (inc Cheque).

To choose Invoice & Bank Transfer, click "Other Payment Options" underneath the "Register" button then click "Pay offline". Credit card is our preferred payment method.

ConQEST Dinner on Monday 2nd July at 6pm, with guest speaker Nimrod Klayman from UQ Idea Hub, is complimentary with ConQEST conference registration.  For catering purposes, you will need to indicate your intention to use your complimentary Dinner ticket.  Dinner will start with canapes in the Heritage Listed Foundation Building, UQ Gatton, followed by a buffet in the Dining Hall. (NOTE: Complimentary dinner tickets are not transferrable)

You are welcome to bring a guest with you to the Conference Dinner, at the cost of $50 per guest. Next to "Company/Organisation" write "Guest" and fill out the remaining Work Information with your organisation's information.

It is recommended that you save an electronic copy OR print out your ticket  and bring it with you to the conference to assist in your registration at the event. YOUR TICKET IS YOUR RECEIPT (for accounting / taxation purposes)
