About this event
This webinar provides ideas, activities and approaches that help connect you and your children to nature, and foster a sense of care for the Earth and place.
The webinar introduces participants to:
* The ‘core routines of nature connection’, including sit spots, mapping, exploring field guides, and tips for bringing these routines into your children's lives.
* Bird language and how much we can learn about the non-human world by learning and paying attention to the voices of the birds.
* Nature journaling as a practice that builds connection and awareness of nature.
* Some simple games and activities that can be done with one or more children.
Participants will be provided with a video link of the recording and a list of links and resources that can support parents in connecting their children to nature.
The webinar is being presented by Emma Brindal, with guest presenter Bethan Burton.
Emma is the Northey Street City Farm Youth Education Coordinator. She developed and runs the NSCF Earth Kids school holiday and homeschool programs, which were inspired largely by the nature connection work of the 8 Shields Institute. She is also the founder of WiseEarth Education.
Bethan is an artist and environmental educator who is passionate about creating connection through nature journaling. See her work here: https://www.journalingwithnature.com/
