Event description
Welcome to the third ‘Connecting the Dots’ Multidisciplinary Alfred Health Stroke Treatment Seminar.

About this Event

Alfred Health and Monash University staff are invited to attend the third ‘Connecting the Dots’ Multidisciplinary Alfred Health Stroke Treatment Seminar on June 24th, 08.30-16.30. The seminar will be held in the A+E (Formerly AMREP) Lecture Theatre, Alfred Hospital, 55 Commercial Road, Melbourne, 300.

This event is only open to Alfred Health and Monash University staff. Please ensure you register with your organisational email address (alfred.org.au, cgmc.org.au, monash.edu etc).

June 24th will be a whole day of high quality education related to all aspects of stroke care. The day is for any healthcare professional working with those affected by stroke. The symposium will be divided into 30 minute interactive sessions led by experts in stroke care from within Alfred Health and outside.

Topics include TIA diagnosis and management, the role of ICU in acute stroke care, medicines management in stroke, cognitive assessment after stroke, complications of vision after stroke, NDIS for stroke survivors, the pros and cons of conducting research on the stroke unit and vocational rehabilitation after stroke. We are especially delighted to welcome two speakers from the Stroke Foundation – Kelvin Hill and Jude Czerenkowski to present on the ‘EnableMe’ initiative and the National ‘living‘ clinical guidelines for stroke.

The day is fully catered and funded thanks to a generous donation from Jan and Barry Hawley with the help of the Alfred Foundation.

We would ask that you please register for the event now online to receive further information and guarantee a place.

Please pass this invite on to colleagues who you know would be interested to attend. Take a moment to view the agenda below.

We look forward to you joining us on June 24th, please send any queries to connectthedots@alfred.org.au.
