About this event
As we slowly come out of our Covid cocoons and start to get active and socially involved again, its more important than ever to reinvigorate and re-engage volunteering in our local communities. We want to show how local groups are making a difference and how you can get involved.
Hear from five local organisations working to increase awareness and action to improve our environments and reduce our impacts on the world. The great news is that ALL of them have plenty of different opportunities for you to join in!
This online event will showcase how being involved with these organisations has had huge benefits for local people, some of the many things they do and give you a chance to find out more about them in a non-committal way.
Hear from South Gippsland Conservation Society, Bass Coast Landcare Network/Groups, Phillip Island Conservation Society, Totally Renewable Phillip Island, and the Energy Innovation Cooperative.
Each of these passionate and committed groups will host a modified ‘Pecha Kucha’ style presentation of 10 photos in 10 minutes. This style of storytelling is a visual one that celebrates humanity in an informal friendly way, allowing you to hear stories about what each group does, why local people love being involved with them and how you can join in on the action. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in the online chat and get them answered by the groups either in the session, or afterwards.
Bookings are now open and zoom links will be sent out to registered participants in the days before the event. We hope you can join us!
This online presentation has been made possible as part of the ‘Future Farms, Homes and Festivals project’ supported by the Victorian Government through the Supporting our Regions to Adapt program, and the Bass Coast Shire Council through the Climate Change action plan 2020-2030.
