About this event

The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music is proud to present the final performance of the year of the Conservatorium Concert Band. The concert features pieces from composers from England, the United States, and Australia. The evening begins with Brian Hogg’s Momentum, a fast-paced concert opener from one of Australia’s most performed wind band composers. The evening flows through with original works from Gordon Jacob and Vincent Persichetti before the haunting Elegy of Matt Klohs (Western Australia). The evening finishes off with exciting flair as the concert band performs Morton Gould’s Jericho Rhapsody which offers a nod to American gospel and jazz idioms.
