Complex Trauma and Attachment in School Age Children – Responding to Challenging Behaviour
This workshop has been designed to assist educators working with children 5 – 12 years to develop a better understanding of how to support children who have experienced neglect, complex trauma or disrupted attachment. This session will summarise contemporary research, and through integration with practice wisdom, provide real hands-on strategies for supporting children’s recovery and development in early and middle years settings.

Trent Savill is the Co-Director of ‘Complex Care’, a Brisbane based practice that specialises in providing intensive therapeutic support to children in the child protection system with complex needs. Trent has been working in private practice for 8 years as a consultant therapist and has over 13 years of experience working with complex and high-risk young people in the child-protection system, providing consultancy to government and non-government sector, in-home therapy to children and families, training to carers and professionals, and coordinating residential care programs.
