Complex conversations with families and colleagues  – Tricky topics and contemporary issues

with Dr Melinda Polimeni

+ Cat Kimber and Tarryn Holland

QA 4 + 6

APST 6 + 7

No one likes difficult conversations, but for educators, they are impossible to avoid. Each adult brings their own set of beliefs, values, fears and experiences, and these often lead to some complex conversations with parents and colleagues. Don’t miss the chance to hear from the Parenting Research Centre’s Dr Melinda Polimeni as she helps you navigate these emotionally-charged waters. Then continue the conversation as you break into smaller groups to unpack tips and strategies for managing tricky topics and contemporary issues at your service.

You will:

  • Discover the best ways to handle difficult topics and emotionally-charged situations
  • Learn how to keep calm during challenging conversations and remain focussed on solutions
  • Workshop scenarios specific to your service
