Complex Case Management for students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder
Mon. 19 June 2017, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm ACST
This workshop is designed for student teams or individual staff to help develop the comprehensive planning required for students at the ‘pointy end’ of the spectrum.
This session will identify practical ways to successfully support students with complex needs including setting up a student support team, development of a positive behaviour support plan and a safe management plan, identifying long and short term goals, supporting staff wellbeing through coaching and mentoring, and using the 3 M’s to measure, monitor and manage the intervention program. References to data, case studies and current autism friendly programs will be covered. This session will help participants develop a student’s behaviour support plan.
The workshop will also provide opportunities to network with other schools and student teams in similar circumstances, to gain new ideas and perspectives on supporting students with high support needs.
