ABOUT THE COMMUNITY SERVICES CLIMATE RESILIENCE PROGRAM

The Department of Health and Human Services, with the support of the Commonwealth Government, is running the Community Services Climate Resilience Program. The program aims to build resilience to natural disasters and climate change in community service organisations. The program provides a facilitator to participating organisations to support their development of appropriate and relevant planning responses to climate risks. This year, numerous CSOs have been involved in the program, each working with facilitators from Arup to achieve a tailored approach to best increase and embed climate and disaster preparedness in their organisation.

ABOUT THE FORUM

The annual forum provides an opportunity for participating and interested organisations to come together to reflect on the program, learn from each other and strengthen their resilience and social learning networks. Facilitated by Arup, the forum will involve the following:

  • Keynote presentation by Toby Kent, Chief Resilience Officer for Melbourne

  • Case study presentations and lessons learnt by metropolitan and regional participating CSOs

  • Monitoring and evaluation exercise to provide an opportunity for further feedback on the program

  • An outlook on the future of community sector resilience

The event will conclude with a networking opportunity.

Please note a limited number of tickets are available and will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. You are welcome to nominate a member of your organisation to participate on your behalf. Please advise us of any dietary requirements.
