Description

The Community, Respect & Equality Summit will showcase experts in the field of primary prevention of family violence to an audience of service providers and professionals from all fields and community members with an interest in primary prevention of violence.

The Summit will take place over three days, from 27 to 29 September 2017 and will consist of a full day program and additional events aimed at different sectors of the community such as youth, men, service providers and Aboriginal community members.

The Summit proper will take place on Thursday 28 September 2017 with four highly regarded key speakers:

    • Jacqui Watt, Chief Executive Officer, No To Violence and Men’s Referral Service
    • Victoria Cooke, Manager, Justice and Family Services, Ruah Community Services, Consultant, Pandora Enterprise Projects
    • Luke Ablett, Former AFL Player and Ambassador for The Line
    • Dorinda Cox, Managing Director, Inspire Change Consulting Group


The Summit will be a high profile forum that will:

    • Educate and inform the audience regarding the drivers of family violence and associated primary prevention activities that can be undertaken in the community.
    • Introduce the Community Respect and Equality Community Champions
    • Launch the Community, Respect and Equality Community Led Action Plan for the Primary Prevention of Family Violence in Geraldton


Target audience

The Summit expects to attract more than 400 delegates over the 3 days of the Community, Respect & Equality events and will target:

  • Community members with an interest in the primary prevention of violence in the community
  • Practitioners and support workers from the family violence sector
  • Community organisation representatives
  • Aboriginal organisation representatives
  • Educators
  • Policy makers and politicians
  • Sporting clubs, coaches and officials
  • Industry leading organisations
  • Professionals whose work relates to primary prevention
