Event description

Description

Effective community engagement can strengthen partnerships, lead to enhanced community involvement in Local Government processes and policy and improve decision making by ensuring input is received from diverse perspectives and a variety of solutions and opinions are presented. Opening up communications between Local Government and the community will also enhance the communities understanding of the role of Local Government as well as ensuring Local Governments gain a valuable insight into community needs. Community Engagement also promotes a sense of trust between Council and the community it serves.

Join Know Injury for the “Community Engagement for Local Governments’ workshop as we discuss:

  • What is community engagement
  • What are the key elements to consider when planning engagement?
  • Tools and techniques
  • Emerging models for engagement
  • Engaging with hard to reach communities
  • Resources

This workshop will be delivered by Joel Levin from Aha! Consulting who has over 20 years’ experience working across Australia in a broad range of sectors. His organisational, engagement and facilitation skills stem from a background in counselling, training, community work and senior management.
