CommUNITY 2019: Schools Refugee forum : Awareness:Advocacy:Action is a youth led project that aims to:

Deepen young people’s awareness of the lives of refugees and people seeking asylum and increase their capacity to act on the issues refugees and people seeking asylum face and to create a more welcoming community.

20 young people from Sutherland Shire and St George planned and delivered 2 youth forums on refugees and people seeking asylum, created short films and have compiled a short report with recommendations based on the feedback of 220 students from 8 local high schools that attended the 2 forums.

This event has been organised by the young leaders and will feature speeches, film screening and presentations from schools involved in the project.
