Overview
This half-day workshop can help to enhance your communication skills and further develop resilience in discussing personal issues with patients, family and carers more effectively. By developing your communication skills you will also improve your professional relationships with patients and colleagues, whilst contributing to best practice and improving patient safety and outcomes.
The workshop involves participating in hypothetical scenarios with a simulated patient/actor and an experienced trained facilitator. There may also be a co-facilitator in training. We provide a safe, private and non-judgmental learning environment for you to practice and receive feedback on your communication skills.
Learning areas
• Develop effective fundamental communication skills
• Practice recognising emotional cues
• Embed intuitive responses through simulated role play
