Communication and Dementia - Online

The session provides information on dementia, the way we communicate and how changes in communication can occur as a result of dementia.

You will gain knowledge on:

• different types and symptoms of dementia
• the brain and its function in relation to communication
• strategies for more effective communication.

Suitable for: Family carers and family members of people living with dementia. This session is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors.

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This session is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new support networks.

How do I access the online session?

This event will be delivered using Zoom. Within the week prior to the event, the link to this online session will be emailed to the email address that you have provided in your registration. If you have not received the link to this session within a day prior to the session, please check your junk mail. If it's not in your junk mail, please email us at Vic.Booking@dementia.org.au

There is no need to download any software in order to participate in this online workshop, therefore you will only need to click on the link to join the session at starting time.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
