Dear sector colleagues

Thank you for your involvement in the Commissioning Project across the four priority areas of homelessness, family and domestic violence, child sexual abuse therapeutic services and out of home care services.

The Commissioning Project has been an ambitious undertaking, and we appreciate you all generously providing your time, expertise, and creativity to support this important work.

The Department of Communities (Communities) will be hosting another whole of sector webinar on 13 December 2021. The webinar will include:

• An update from the Department of Finance on the development of the State Commissioning Strategy
• Launch of Communities’ Draft Agency Commissioning Plan
• Brief overview of the work of the Design Labs across the priority areas

There will also be an opportunity for you all to ask questions or provide feedback on your experiences of your involvement in the Commissioning Project so far.

Due to the expected volume of attendees, Communities will be moderating the chat function within the webinar, however please be assured that all questions will be published and answered. If you have any questions that you would like to submit prior to the webinar, please contact commissioning@communities.wa.gov.au

Please note the following changes to the program for this session:

• The intended update from The Department of Finance will be replaced by an update from Cheryl Smith, Assistant Director General Aboriginal Outcomes on the progress of the ACCO Strategy. The Department of Finance have committed to briefing us all in early 2022 on the State Commissioning Strategy.

• The length of the session will be reduced to one hour to accommodate the above change and allow for the Department of Communities Director General update followed by a Question and Answer session. The start time remains 10:30am, with an earlier end time anticipated to be 11:30am. You will receive a further email from the event when the end time is amended.

We will take on notice questions you may have for the Department of Finance to pass on to them so that they may provide answers through our Commissioning webpage updates. Those questions can be provided by email to commissioning@communities.wa.gov.au or typed into the chat box during the live event session.

We look forward to providing you with an informative update and an opportunity for further engagement on this important piece of work which aims to improve the way in which services are commissioned to assist our community.
