Description

This workshop will introduce you to the Commercialisation team and how commercialisation works at Murdoch University. At the end of this workshop, you will understand the fundamentals of how to manage the intellectual property you are creating and who you can contact for support in the Research and Innovation Office.

Expert guest speaker Albert Ferraloro will describe the basics of IP, including patents, trademarks and confidential information. Albert is a Principal at Wrays, one of the largest independent IP specialist firms in Australia. He has over 27 years’ experience in IP, and a vast knowledge of IP assets and their management and commercialisation.

Our own Commercialisation team, Tymen Brom and Ann Choong, will inform you on commercialisation processes at Murdoch University and how to handle conflicts of interest. They will also highlight some of the other programs offered by Murdoch to support commercialisation and entrepreneurship.

Morning tea will be provided, along with a chance to ask questions and engage in discussions with the speakers.

This workshop will be tailored to topics relevant to the School of Engineering and Information Technology. However, all staff and postgraduate students at Murdoch University can benefit from this class and are welcome to attend.
