Event description

The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (C'th) allows businesses to engage in collective bargaining with suppliers and acquirers of their goods and services in certain circumstances.

The ACCC is calling for submissions by 3 July 2019 on its proposal to grant a class exemption to small businesses that would give them access to collective bargaining protections without the need for any further approval from the Commission.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Discover what the ACCC is proposing and what it means for small businesses and independent contractors
  • Develop your understanding of the different protections under which collective bargaining can take place
  • Design your response to different bargaining scenarios involving your clients, suppliers and contractors.
