The majority of wounds will heal with the use of evidence-based practice however even with the best intentions some wounds remain recalcitrant to healing. This evening will provide an opportunity to explore some difficult cases as well as hear Professor Keith Harding speak about advances in the area of managing difficult to heal chronic wounds.

Target audience:

All clinicians who are involved in wound management as part of their day-to-day practice, such as: General Practitioners, Specialist Wound Care Clinicians, Podiatrists, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Community Nurses, Registered & Enrolled Nurses. Undergraduate students are also welcome to attend.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Participants will hear Professor Keith Harding from the Welsh Wound Innovation Centre about the newest, innovative therapies which can enhance healing in patients who have difficult to heal wounds
  2. Participants will hear a multidisciplinary panel discuss three case studies of patients with wounds that stalled toward healing
  3. Participants will have an opportunity to engage with the multidisciplinary panel to further explore the presented case studies
  4. Participants will be able to question the multidisciplinary panel on any difficult wound management presentations they have experienced in their clinical setting.
