The Great Forest

The Great Forest is a stunning new book that takes the reader on an extraordinary journey through forests dominated by the world’s tallest flowering plants – the majestic Mountain Ash. The book is set in the forests just 90 minutes from the middle of Melbourne. It uses truly beautiful images and insightful text to describe not only the magnificent trees, but also provide unique insights into forest animals, plants and geology – a silent, snow white glider (that is in many ways like a small gliding Koala), the world’s tallest moss, and the remnants of some of the biggest volcanoes on earth. The book is underpinned by almost four decades of intensive research by scientists at The Australian National University and describes forests and forest biodiversity in new and fascinating ways.
