Event description

Description

We are hosting three +COLAB Preaching Workshops with three incredible teachers over August and September this year. Each seminar will be informative, practical and interactive. This is for anyone interested in learning about how to read and understand the bible better, as well as a chance to learn how the pros prepare and deliver a message. All welcome!

+ Sunday 20th August:
Week 1. Entering the story - Christine Redwood

This seminar aims to equip you in engaging in the Biblical Story (and stories) with an appropriate understanding of yourself and the text in order to help others enter the story.

Rev Christine Redwood (B.Communications [Media], M.Div, M.Min) is a respected teacher and preacher. She is the Associate Pastor for Hornsby Baptist Church and an adjunct lecturer at Morling College. As part of an MTh, she is currently researching femenist hermeneutics and preaching from the book of Judges. She was Morling College’s preaching intern in 2010.

+ Sunday 27th August:
Week 2. Experiencing the story - Graeme Anderson

This seminar aims to equip you in relating emotionally, imaginatively, and spiritually with the Biblical Story (and stories) in order to help others experience the story.

Rev Graeme Anderson (BEd, MDiv, MAmin, AMusA) is the Lead Pastor for Northside Baptist Church and an adjunct lecturer at Morling College. Prior to pastoral ministry Graeme was a primary teacher (and had a short and unremarkable career as an opera singer). He is an alumni of the Renovarè Institute, and was a Morling College Research Fellow in 2015. His research focused on the role of Christian spiritual formation in missional ecclesiology.

+ Sunday 3rd September:
Week 3. Telling the story - Mike Frost

This seminar aims to equip you in telling others what you have learnt, seen, and experienced in order to help them tell their own stories.

Rev Dr Michael Frost (MA, BTh, DipTeach, DMin) is the Vice Principal of Morling College and the Director of the Tinsley Institute. Michael teaches various missiology and evangelism subjects, and has written extensively on a missional paradigm for the church in a post-Christian era. Several of his books have been translated into Spanish, German, Swedish and Korean, which has led to an extensive international speaking ministry.
