Event description

Description

This is a 2 hour workshop for kids 7-12 years old who have never coded before but would love to take their first steps in learning by making a fun computer game.

We will start with some very simple coding activities, and then work up to a full game project together. By the end of the workshop, kids will have made their own game that they can play at home and share with their friends and family.

The kids will be coding in a tool named Scratch, which is one of the most popular visual coding tools in the world, and a great place to start learning.

The workshop runs for 2 hours, and we have 3 session times available:

Morning session 9:15am - 11:15am

Midday session 12:00pm - 2:00pm

Afternoon session 2:45pm - 4:45pm

This is the booking page for the morning session.
Please click here if you want to book for the midday session instead , or click here for the afternoon session.

The sessions are run in the IT Training Room on the 4th floor of the National Library of Australia. Please drop off and pick up your kids from the 4th floor area outside the IT Training Room.

Please bring a small snack and a drink bottle.

We will supply the computers.
