CoderDojo Melbourne @ Hawthorn Community House
Sun. 13 November 2016, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm AEDT
Remember the following guidelines are very important for this event to avoid disappointment:
Bring your parent along if you are under 12 years old of age and to bring your own laptop and charger. CoderDojo only employs volunteers so we cannot guarantee giving you a device. Also make sure to have proper Internet Access working both remote and wi-fi.
I am confused on what sort of languages or what my child is meant to use at CoderDojo sessions?
Please check this page link to CoderDojo Kata: http://kata.coderdojo.com/wiki/Home_Page and these are some of the resources that we use at CoderDojo sessions! If your child is beyond beginner level, we can discuss this. Awarding a badge for your child must be earned by making a website in their own time.
What can I bring to the event related to coding if I have one?
- Virtual Reality Goggles and Minecraft installed
- Raspberry Pi SD Card and Minecraft installed
- CoderDojo: Build a First Website Book
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Hawthorn Community House is easily accessible by tram and train from Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn. Make sure to take the train from Richmond going on the Alamein, Belgrave or Lilydale lines (this is easiest as takes less time to get to). You will need to walk five minutes up from Glenferrie Road until the street after the Hawthorn Hotel becomes Henry St. There is paid car parking nearby on Henry Street if you wish to park your car for a couple of hours.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, especially if someone drops out this iis even better news!
Due to popular demand there will be some slots available for those who do not purchase quickly, but as a small room we will only have a few spots left - so hurry up today!
