Coast Track ~ Iconic Full Day Hike 29km // Sun September 22nd

JOIN US: On this EPIC full day hike of The Royal National Park ~ The Coast Track 29km 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The views are 360 degrees ~ breathtaking

Our guides are all locals ~ They travel the tracks all year long & know all the little secluded secret private areas that only a local can know. BONUS

Hike Australia's Oldest National Park. Circa 1879. Experience the beautiful heritage listed park land, historic sites, Indigenous sites & spectacular headlands. Look out for beautiful coastal birdlife, goannas, wallabies, kangaroos, platypuses & much more........

We are so excited to host this event which is suitable for those with an adventurous spirit who are up for a challenge.

Cost: $99 all inclusive ~ Deposit is $20 this will book your spot

  • Your final installment of $79 is due 14 days from the date of your deposit.

Distance: 29km one way

Grade 5: Hard ~ Suitable for intermediate hikers (not suitable for beginners)

Coast Track Terrain: Steep hills, many stairs, boardwalk, sand walking, rocks, creeks, unformed rough rocky bush track

LFWA Intermediate Hiker Grading:

  • Can hike18 – 25km on steep uphill terrain, single rough unformed rocky bushtrack, with steep up & down inclines, stairs, sandy, muddy, wet & windy conditions, & water crossings, carrying a back pack with 5 - 8 kg or above

  • Have hiked more than 30 times at a moderate pace on the terrain above in bush conditions.

Leaving our cars at the Bundeena end of the Coast Track we will be shuttled by our 24 seater shuttle bus track transfer to our start at the Otford end of the Coast Track

What's Included: Morning, afternoon tea & lunch, 2 x qualified female guides, remote wilderness first aid, safety briefing, licensing, commercial tour, shuttle bus track transfers, wilderness navigation, remote 2 way emergency radio communications


MEET: 7.00am at Bundeena ~ 71 Beachcomber Ave Bundeena, park in the car park

  • Meeting at Beachcomber Ave ( Bundeena end of the Coast Track ) we are picked up by our 24 seater shuttle bus & transferred to the Otford end of the Coast track where we commence our hike.

  • The Otford end of this track has the most amazing views of the Stanwell & Illawarra Escarpement Headlands, simply breathtaking. Get your cameras out! Travelling along the track we pass by & through, Werong Lookout, Lilyvale, Palm Jungle, Figure 8 Pools & Burning Palms. Stopping for a short morning tea & drink break

  • Hitting the track again we climb the ascent out of Burning Palms & along the rolling cliff tops of Era & Thelma Headland, awesome views great photo opportunity. Travelling onto Garie, we stop for a toilet break.

  • Off again we cross sand tracks, climbing the stairs to Garie North Headland another top view, moving along we make for Eagle Rock ( Curracurrong ) & one of the manly amazing waterfalls of The Royal. The falls are quite unique, in certain windy weather conditions the waterfall flows backwards. Extraordinary

  • Making our way further along the track we find ourselves at Curracurrang a lovely little rocky bay & beach. We stop here for 35 min for lunch. Perfect spot for a cooling wild swim.

  • Following lunch we hike onto Wattamolla, toilets are available here. We check out Wattamolla Falls, Lagoon & Dam as we pass by. Travelling onto the lovely Little Marley Beach & billabong, crossing the sand & rocky outcrops we head for Big Marley. Crossing Big Marley & onto Marley Head for a photo & to take a look back at the impressive distance & terrain we have just travelled. Just 4.6 km left to go. HOW GOOD IS THAT!

  • Our next stop is Wedding Cake Rock the most Instagrammed spot in The Royal National Park. Another fantastic waterfall awaits us around the corner at The Waterrun & Devils Dice.

  • Almost there, we make for the brilliant white rocky cliffs of The Balconies, joining the track again we find ourselves at Bundeena & our cars. This marks the end of an absolutely EPIC hike & the finish of our full day hiking adventure. Arriving approximately 5pm

  • OPTIONAL Dinner & Drinks at Bundeena RSL ~ this is at your own expense. Nice way to finish off the day before the drive home

What is the walking pace?

  • We will be hiking at a moderate pace, catering for everyone, being mindful of different fitness levels & efforts involved, not rushing to finish, taking care to respect each other. Hiking together, we believe in a group, is the same as being in a team, we make sure all hikers in our group are together keeping each other well supported & safe.

What happens if I wish to walk faster than the group?

  • We do understand that everyone walks at different paces, this is a moderate walking pace hike. If you are walking faster & way ahead of the group you are missing out on what Lost & Found Wellness Adventures is all about; you are missing out on the enriching life experience with your group. If your guide can not see you, you are out of safe supervising range. Unfortunately we can not take any responsibility for you. It is best to stay within range of our group.

Who is this hike suitable for?

  • This hike is suitable for those with reasonable fitness / intermediate hiking experience ( at distances of 18 - 20km or more with experience hiking, steep hills, stairs, single track & uneven surfaces). This hike is not suitable for beginners

What is the Grade?

  • This is a grade 5 hard hike due to distance, steep stairs, track steepness, single track & water crossings. (not suitable or safe for beginners)

What size backpack do I need?

  • Each person will carry their own day pack with your own water. We will provide you with a track pack for the day. Track pack includes: A delicious vegetarian wrap, juice, piece of fruit, protein or power bar & scroggin ( trail mix ).

Is there any mobile phone reception?

  • There is no reception at all in the Royal National Park

Do I need any money?

  • No there are no shops in the park

What if I have dietary requirements?

  • No problem. we cater for vegan, keto, vegetarian & gluten free diets. Let us know once you have booked your ticket.

What happens if there is an emergency?

  • Your professional guides are trained in wilderness first aid. Your guides will carry first aid kits, have a PLB registered with emergency services. Our guides carry a topographic map with compass & are trained in wilderness navigation. Each guide is equipped with a 2 way radio for emergency communication.

Who is this event for?

  • Women & Men over 18yrs

Do I need to carry water?

  • Yes you need to carry at least 2.5 - 3 ltrs of your own water. There is no drinkable water in the Royal National Park

Are there toilets?

  • There are toilets at Bundeena, Garie, Nth Era & Wattamola

What if I do not want to hike the whole way?

  • No problem. There are 2 pull out spots:

  • Garie: at 13km there is a car park where you can arrange to be picked up by friends or family

  • Wattamola: at 17km there is a car park where you can arrange to be picked up by friends or family

  • If leaving the hike early you will need to inform your guides at the start. Group safety is our priority.

  • As there is no reception in the park, you will need to pre - arrange this pick up yourself before you enter the national park

You Need To Bring:

  • 2.5 - 3ltrs water ( water bladder or bottles )

  • Comfortable Hiking boots, Joggers or trail shoes ( no sandals or strappy shoes )

  • Towel

  • Swimmers ~ OPTIONAL

  • Walking Poles ~ OPTIONAL fantastic on this hike

  • Camera

  • Layers

  • Rain Jacket - ( event is on in the rain )


We provide a refund less $45 admin & license fee up to 15 days before event, a refund of 50% of the amount will be given 7 - 15 days before event. There is no refund given with less than 7 days notice before event, due to catering, licensing & tour costs that we have to pay from our end. Your ticket however may be transferred to another person who wishes to join us.

If we have to cancel event due to dangerous weather conditions or bush fire you will be notified the night before or early morning of event & a choice to reshedule or a full refund will be given.
