Event description

Description

In the modern era of sport, understanding the importance of mindset, and the role it plays in an athlete’s development has been highly publicized and studied. Premiership Coach Luke Beveridge regularly discusses how his understanding of mindset impacted the Western Bulldogs quick rise to the top. “You’ve got to identify personality traits, and have an understanding of how to bend and sway with each individual. It’s an exercise in people management as much as coaching” Beveridge has been quoted saying.

After years of working directly with athletes on their mindset, our Mental Strength Coach has developed three Coaching Psychology modules to assist coaches in understanding how they can impact their athlete’s mindset in positive ways to improve not only an athlete’s performance on the field, but also team culture, resilience and motivation.

In this course, coaches will be exposed the most up-to-date theories and activities in:

  • Brain structure
  • Personality profiling
  • Learning profiles
  • Stages of learning
  • Stages of growth
  • Management of emotions
  • Development of belief systems

This course runs for 2 hours and includes a workbook for coaches to take away containing all the information covered in the program.

This module is a pre-requisite to Coaching Psychology 1B & 1C.
