Description

Clinical governance and care provision in Home Care- The training and seminar you asked for!

Aged care is an ever changing landscape, and as the industry expands there is increased emphasis put on robust clinical care, documentation, case conferencing and operating procedures. A report recently released by the WA Coroner has highlighted the need for clinical governance for Home Care Providers.

To maintain quality standards and to protect your organisation, it is imperative to implement a sound clinical governance framework.

This MUST ATTEND event has been designed to provide organisations with all the tools needed to design and implement a robust framework.

There will be presentations about case studies and the necessary clinical framework that needs to be in place for providers to meet legislative requirements. Lorraine Poulos, a Registered Nurse and the facilitator for the day will provide you with guidance and advice about how to meet legislative requirements. She will discuss changes in the industry and how this may impact on your organisation. Lorraine will assist attendees to assess their current model and implement the necessary changes.
Lorraine has worked closely with government and the aged care sector for over 20 years and brings valuable insights to the day.
Tools will be provided to assist participants to implement the changes covering:
• What is clinical governance?
• How does clinical governance protect your organisation?
• Working closely with GPs and allied health providers
• Implementing best practice processes
• Quality documentation
• Risk management
• Case conferencing
• Common clinical care issues (wound care, medications, continence, dementia)

Target Audience: All staff working in Home Care including Managers, Educators, Quality Officers and Case Managers/Co-ordinators. This seminar will assist New Providers, NDIS and CHSP providers looking to provide higher levels of care in the home.

Each attendee will receive a USB with extensive resources to use in their work.
